Acquiring a new home in a Lakewood Ranch village could be the best real estate investment you can make in 2019. According to RCLCO, a respected real estate analytics firm based in Maryland, Lakewood Ranch was the leading development for housing starts in the United States, and the second residential community in terms of sales activity. Over the last few years, a couple of community parks and shopping centers have been inaugurated in Lakewood Ranch, and development of new villages has not slowed down.

Woodleaf Hammock is a mid-sized gated community located south of State Road 64 and east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, not far from the new Gateway shopping center. Development of this neighborhood started in 2019; M/I Homes is in charge of single-family homes while Meritage Homes is building townhouses. The architectural styles are borrowed from modern Southern California communities, and they are a nice departure from the Mediterranean revival designs that have become too common in Southwest Florida.

Prospective home buyers looking to raise a family will find Woodleaf Hammock ideal. Neighborhood amenities include a swimming pool with a clubhouse, two playgrounds, a pavilion, pickleball courts, lakes, nature preserves, and picnic areas. Some of the nearby family attractions include Bob Gardner Community Park, Lake Manatee State Park, and the Premier Sports Campus.

Pricing for a three-bedroom townhouse with two bathrooms starts under $270K. The single-family homes feature between three and four bedrooms, but some floor plans allow you to convert a den into a fifth bedroom if you sign a new construction contract. As of September 2019, a four-bedroom home with three bathrooms built on 2,309 square feet of living space could be negotiated for $433K, but home values are rising fast because of the convenient location. The Gateway shopping center, which is just five minutes away, offers a new Publix supermarket, a couple of banks, restaurants, cafes, and even a yoga studio. Bradenton Beach is about 45 minutes away.
