Mote Ranch is a collection of nine neighborhoods that mostly lie on the northern region of Sarasota County. With more than 750 homes in this vast residential community, home buyers are always likely to find an available listing. Mote Ranch offers considerable diversity in real estate; three neighborhoods are located on the banks of the Braden River, and the other six are arranged between ponds, lakes, creeks, and nature preserves. This community was mostly developed by Lennar from the early 1990s to 2004, which means that many of the properties share a Mediterranean-style look.
When compared to either Lakewood Ranch or Palmer Ranch, home buyers will find that the Mote Ranch properties tend to be more spacious and affordable. Pricing varies across the different neighborhoods; for example, a three-bedroom and two-bathroom home built on 2,329 square feet of living space may be listed for $335K if it is located near the upscale University Park section.
Mote Ranch also offers opportunities to find waterfront real estate in either Manatee or Sarasota counties. For the most part, the Mote Ranch neighborhoods are closer to Sarasota than Bradenton, and the beaches of either county are pretty much equidistant and just 30 minutes away. The nine neighborhoods share a large community center that features a swimming pool, a large playground, a lake with a nature trail, picnic areas, fishing pier, and kayak launch. A good portion of Mote Ranch is protected as a network of nature preserves that separate the neighborhoods for maximum privacy.
In terms of shopping and entertainment, Mote Ranch neighbors can choose between the trendy University Park shopping district or the burgeoning Main Street at Lakewood Ranch.
