Savvy house hunters and seasoned real estate investors in Manatee County know that some of the best deals they can find are located among the older subdivisions that surround the Lakewood Ranch master-planned development. Such is the case of Braden Woods, a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood where the single-family homes tend to be more spacious than Lakewood Ranch.
The Braden Woods neighborhood is located in Bradenton about a mile east of I-75, south of State Road 70. Development of this community started in the mid-1980s, a few years before Lakewood Ranch broke ground. There are six residential sections in Braden Woods; the earliest homes were built on lots that measured at least one acre while the most recent were built on half-acre lots.
Homeowners at Braden Woods enjoy plenty of green space, which features an 8-acre lake and mature pine trees. Although this is not a gated community, it is hidden and tucked away from other subdivisions. The local homeowners association is funded by some of the lowest annual fees in Manatee County, and the architectural design includes Florida ranch and Mediterranean styles. Most of the spacious homes feature between three and four bedrooms, and pricing ranges from under $250K to more than $500K.
In terms of suburban comforts, Braden Woods is a very attractive neighborhood due to its proximity to Main Street at Lakewood Ranch, where residents can find plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options. A few public schools are located nearby, and the same can be said of golf courses, county parks and racquet clubs. Bradenton Beach is about 30 minutes away, which makes it ideal for weekend trips.
