Talon Bay in North Port Florida : Homes for Sale w/ Amenities

Imagine living just across the road from the only spot in the Sunshine State where the therapeutic properties of natural warm springs can be enjoyed. Warm Mineral Springs is the most historic park in the modern City of North Port; this is a place where saber-toothed tiger fossils have been found, and it was also a settlement of ancient Floridians. Talon Bay is the closest gated community to Warm Mineral Springs; construction started with Lennar as the lead developer in 2005, and it was completed in 2017 by D.R. Horton.

The increased pace of residential and commercial development in North Port has caused high demand for properties in choice neighborhoods such as Talon Bay. This community used to fly under the radar, but things have changed in recent years; available listings do not last very long on the market because they are quickly snapped up by smart home buyers.

The Atlanta Braves moving their spring training facility to CoolToday Park just down the road has a lot to do with North Port’s thriving housing market, but there’s no question that communities like Talon Park offer great value. As of July 2020, the average listing for a three-bedroom home with two bathrooms built on a floor plan measuring 2,000 square feet started around $300K. Larger properties with four bedrooms and three bathrooms are listed closer to $400K, but there are also smaller two-bedroom villas that typically list at more affordable prices.

A large part of the 110 acres of Talon Bay has been set aside as greenbelt areas. With six lakes in the community, quite a few properties enjoy water views. Nature trails lead to a kayak launch where residents and guests can explore Myakkahatchee Creek Park, which connects with the Myakka River waterway. Other amenities include a resort-style swimming pool and a fitness center in the clubhouse. Shopping and entertainment are available at the nearby West Villages and Cocoplum Village Shops; when you are ready for a trip to the beach, you can choose between Nokomis and Venice, both located less than 30 minutes away.
