Grand Oaks is part of a surge in real estate development that started in Venice around 2012. At that time, Southwest Florida experienced a solid recovery from the 2008 downturn of the housing market, and this is when Heritage Builders broke ground on a nice piece of land not far from Venice Avenue and Jacaranda Boulevard.
Initial sales in Grand Oaks were very strong thanks to attractive price points for new construction single-family homes. By the time a couple of floor plans won Parade of Homes awards in 2014, the rest of the 55 models sold out very quickly. The setting of this neighborhood is gorgeous; quite a few homes enjoy views of a large lake surrounded by small greenbelt spaces with mature trees.
The architectural style at Grand Oaks combines elements of Tuscan and Mediterranean design. When you compare Grand Oaks to other communities in Venice, you will come to appreciate ornate details such as granite counters, wood cabinetry, tray ceilings, tiled roofs, pavers in the driveway, and expansive lanais. Living space starts at 1,864 square feet for two-bedroom units. Since this community is built like an enclave, the lots tend to be smaller, but there is still plenty of privacy and safety for families with young children. Prices as of July 2020 started around $350K, but available listings were a bit hard to come by because they sell fast.
In the neighborhood center of Grand Oaks, residents and guests will find a heated swimming pool, an elegant clubhouse with a kitchen that can be reserved for social events, a fire pit, grilling area, and a spa. When you are ready for more entertainment, the beach is less than 15 minutes away on Venice Avenue, and you also have the Pelican Pointe Golf Club nearby. The Jacaranda Commons shopping center is a few minutes to the east, and this is where you can find a Publix supermarket and a CVS Pharmacy; a Winn Dixie supermarket is just a few minutes south on Jacaranda Boulevard.
