Despite being an open subdivision, Englewood Isles feels like a gated community thanks to the dense greenbelt that surrounds six residential sections where you can find single-family homes, villas, and condominium units. The neighborhood starts where the Woodmere district of Venice ends in the south, and it extends from Englewood Road all the way west to Lemon Bay. The waterfront opportunities range from homes that sit along saltwater canals to villas that overlook lakes and ponds. As can be expected from a neighborhood flanked by two marinas, many of the properties here feature their own private docks, seawalls, and piers.

Englewood Isles offers a nice diversity of architectural styles. Florida ranches are predominant, but you can also find some Modernist homes as well as renovated properties with Mediterranean revival touches. Quite a few houses have been thoroughly renovated over the years, and many of them offer extras such as summer kitchens, wooden decks that connect to private docks, swimming pools, wine cellars, and more. You can expect to find three-bedroom homes with swimming pools built on at least 10,000 square foot lots listed for $403K in 2021. More spectacular properties with waterfront views from two sides, four bedrooms, and private docking space can be found listed for less than $800K.

In general, you will pay considerably less for waterfront homes in Englewood Isles compared to other parts of Sarasota County, and you will not have to make any sacrifices in terms of convenience. You can get most of your shopping done at the Lemon Bay shopping plaza across the road, and the Venice Village Shoppes are about five minutes away. Going down to the white sandy beach at Manasota Key will also take you about five minutes.
