While there are many residential golf communities across Southwest Florida, Venice will always be one of the best choices thanks to opportunities such as the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club. As of August 2020, properties listed in this neighborhood started under $235K, which is far below the $270K median home price in Venice for properties that do not offer premium amenities such as golf courses and tennis courts.
After the Lake Venice Golf Club, Pelican Pointe is the closest course to the beach. A short drive north on Jacaranda Boulevard or Pinebrook Road will take you to East Venice Avenue, and from there you only have to drive about eight minutes west. The properties at Pelican Pointe were developed from the late 1990s until about 2005 by renowned builders such as Arthur Rutenberg. There are more than a thousand homes built around the fairways, lakes, and meadows of the country club.
At Pelican Pointe, home buyers will find properties in four separate neighborhoods. The traditional golf villas with maintenance-free arrangements are found in The Villas and The Links. The Arbors and The Sanctuary offer larger single-family homes with at least three bedrooms and more spacious floor plans; these two sections are also a bit more secluded and offer easier access to the clubhouse and amenities center. Thanks to the numerous properties in this community, you are always bound to find great deals such as a three-bedroom house with two full bathrooms and 1,731 square feet of living space for less than $300K; this is a listing that came on the market in July 2020m, and it will likely sell very quickly.
A country club membership is not mandatory for Pelican Pointe homeowners, but it is highly recommended for the 27-hole golf course, which can be split into three 9-hole rounds with various tee placements and par options. If you prefer to play full 18-hole rounds, you will be challenged by 7,000 yards with elevations, turns, sand traps, and water obstacles. At the remodeled clubhouse, you will find a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a modern fitness center. There is also a separate golf training facility where you can practice putting, driving, chipping, and pitching.
