Stoneybrook in Venice : Gorgeous Florida Homes for Sale

Lennar, one of Florida’s most prestigious residential developers, has achieved great success with its Stoneybrook in Venice project, a large gated community that offers a great combination of real estate and amenities. Located between East Venice Avenue and Center Road, Stoneybrook spans more than 640 acres near the Myakka River State Park, and it has been developed following the principles of Lakewood Ranch villages in Manatee County. What this means for prospective home buyers is that they can find gorgeous homes surrounded by nature preserves; plus, the resort-style aspect of the community is highly appealing to families.

Development of Stoneybrook dates back to 2005; the initial phase of construction moved pretty quickly but it would later hit a snag because of a major downturn in the regional housing market. Once things improved around 2012, Lennar delivered hundreds of new units, and some of them have been completed as recently as 2019. The builder had great prescience in selecting this part of Venice for; the Wellen Park master-planned development project, also known as the West Villages, broke ground a decade later just south of Center Road, and it has had a very positive effect on Stoneybrook property values.

As of early 2021, a three-bedroom home with two bathrooms and more than 2,000 square feet of interior space could be negotiated for less than $390K. Lennar is a builder known for its stylish interpretations of the Mediterranean revival style, which is clearly evident in Stoneybrook. With more than 30 lakes and ponds around the community, there is a good chance you can find a home with nice water views.

The amenities by themselves are sufficiently enticing for anyone who wishes to live in Stoneybrook, where you can find facilities for playing basketball, soccer, tennis, pickle ball, volleyball, and even inline hockey. There’s also a swimming pool with spa, nature trails, an outdoor grilling area, and easy access to Jelk’s Preserve. Driving west for 10 minutes will take you to the Jacaranda Commons shopping center, and you can continue for about 15 minutes to the beaches of Venice.
