Located near the banks of the Manatee River near Downtown Bradenton, The Inlets is a special neighborhood with an interesting history of residential developments. Although The Inlets project was first envisioned in the late 1950s, residential construction did not take place until three decades later. Even before construction of the first house started, the developers planted mangrove in The Inlets for the purpose of attracting wildlife and beautifying the neighborhood.
Once the mangrove had matured around The Inlets, development was formally undertaken by renowned home builders such as Medallion Home, Arthur Rutenberg and Camlin Home. These developers have combined different styles of residential architecture; from the Mediterranean revival to Nantucket homes and from Caribbean to Key West estates, house hunters are bound to find a favorite floor plan at The Inlets.
The Inlets community is separated into three sections. The maintenance-free carriage homes at Bella Sole will appeal to home buyers interested in a resort lifestyle while Harbour Walk and The Reserve are for house hunters looking for luxury and plenty of space. Waterfront properties are virtually guaranteed in all three sections.
Residents of The Inlets share a community park, a playground, a fishing pier, a kayak launch, and a small boat ramp. This is a neighborhood for boaters; many of the properties have their own dock space. A fishing trip to the Tampa Bay is about six miles away; going to the beach at Anna Maria Island is a six-mile excursion as well.
The Inlets neighborhoods are located strategically close to Manatee Avenue just before it becomes a bridge over the Braden River. Commercial districts are located to the east and west of the main gate. Driving to Downtown Bradenton takes less than 15 minutes, and Holmes Beach is about 30 minutes away.
