There aren’t too many residential communities in Florida where homeowners can enjoy rounds of golf followed by a stroll through their very own nature preserve. The Venetian Golf and River Club, which was developed by WCI Communities in the late 1990s, offers some of the best quality of life proposals in Southwest Florida, and it is not far from the burgeoning Wellen Park master-planned development of Venice and North Port.

Similar to other residential golf resorts built by WCI Communities, the Venetian Club boasts a challenging 18-hole course with alternate tee placements for various skill playing levels. The 70-acre River Walk Park merges into the course, thus making it worthy of an Audubon Gold Signature Championship Golf Course certification. In addition to bunkers, sand traps, and sweeping fairways, Venetian Club players enjoy plenty of nature and wildlife viewing.

The overall atmosphere at the Venetian Club is pretty luxurious; this is reflected not only by the clubhouse and its fine dining halls but also the real estate. Whether you are interested in a golf villa or a large estate overlooking the water, you can trust in the quality design and construction of WCI Communities. Since this is a large community, you can always find available listings, and in some cases they are priced as low as $235K for a two-bedroom villa with two bathrooms and 1,249 square feet of interior. At the more upscale end of the Venetian Club real estate spectrum, a four-bedroom estate with four full bathrooms, and a private swimming pool with a spa overlooking the lake was recently listed for less than $700K.

Golf memberships are not mandatory at the Venetian Club, but they are highly recommended and offered at a generous discount to homeowners. A full membership provides access to fine golf, fine dining, the community gym, swimming pool, yoga studio, and tennis courts. Access to the pristine Venetian River Walk does not require membership, and it is definitely worth a home purchase.

Venetian Club residents can drive to Venice Beach in about 25 minutes, but many prefer to spend their weekends at Nokomis Beach, a more natural and less crowded spot. With regard to shopping, the elegant Plaza Venezia and its new Publix supermarket are about two miles west and on the other side of I-75.
