Palmetto is one of those housing markets that tend to fly under the radar despite offering quite a few elements conducive to a great real estate acquisition. Most people are familiar with Palmetto’s Historic District, which is located along the banks of the Manatee River and across from the Bradenton waterfront, but the northern end closer to I-275 offers very interesting opportunities such as the Arbor Creek subdivision.
Arbor Creek in Palmetto was quietly developed between 2001 and 2004, and this is evident by the predominant Mediterranean revival style of the single-family residences. Most of the homes offer three bedrooms and at least 1,357 square feet of living space. The largest floor plans offer four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and more than 2,2,59 square feet of interior. McMullen Creek runs across a small nature preserve within the community, and two lakes in the neighborhood offer water views to a few lucky homeowners.
As of early 2026, Arbor Creek was one of the most affordable communities in Manatee County. This is one of the few places where you can find a three-bedroom home built in 2001 for less than $320K. The largest properties with four bedrooms and private swimming pools are offered around $500K. Available listings in Arbor Creek have been selling rather quickly, and this is because of greater interest from buyers who wish commute to St. Petersburg and Tampa. Although this section of Palmetto used to be very sleepy, commercial development has been picking up, and there are now various convenience stores within easy driving distance. A new Detwiler’s Farm Market is about 10 minutes south, not far from the Palmetto Publix supermarket. As for weekend trips to the beach, you can choose between Anna Maria Island and St. Petersburg Beach; depending on traffic conditions, crossing the Skyway Bridge may be a better option.
