Conveniently located in the Bee Ridge district of Sarasota, Amberlea is a small subdivision where you can enjoy lots of space, nature and high quality of life. Development of Amberlea started in the late 1980s with a vision by local builder Arthur Rutenberg to take advantage of the natural beauty in this section of Sarasota. The lots and single-family residences of Amberlea are among the largest in the Bee Ridge district, and this has attracted many families with younger children.
The Amberlea community consists of 94 homes arranged in two sections. Interior space starts at 3,000 square feet, and lots measure at least 13,000 square feet. All properties feature private swimming pools. The five pristine lakes in Amberlea are surrounded by green areas cared for by the homeowners association. Most homes are built in the Mediterranean revival style, a few are Florida ranch-style houses.
Listings in this neighborhood do not come on the market as often as buyers would like. Most Amberlea homeowners make this community their homestead, and they tend to hold on to their properties. Pricing as of March 2019 started under $500K for a four-bedroom home with three full bathrooms. Many of the properties have been remodeled and upgraded over the years; some feature retractable hurricane shutters, air purifiers, smart home automation systems, advanced generators, and electric car chargers. Amberlea residents enjoy a very convenient location just 15 minutes from Downtown Sarasota. Two shopping districts on Ashton Road and Clark Road are just south of the neighborhood, and the Publix supermarkets at Sarasota Village Plaza, Centergate Village, and Northridge Plaza are all less than 10 minutes away. Nearby family attractions include Livingston’s Amusement Center and the Red Bug Slough Preserve. Siesta Key Beach can be easily accessed from Clark Road and the Stickney Point bridge, this is a 15-minute drive.
