Bent Tree in Sarasota : Homes for Sale with a Country Club & Golf

Located a couple of miles east of I-75, Bent Tree in Sarasota is a traditional golf community and country club that gets everything right; from location to architecture and from amenities to privacy, home buyers will find quite a few attractive options in this neighborhood.

Bent Tree dates back to the mid-1970s, a time when development of golf communities was in full swing across Sarasota; this was one of the earliest country clubs built on the eastern side of I-75, and the goal was to give home buyers more privacy and seclusion. Bent Tree has been renovated numerous times, the most recent being 2010.

There are three residential sections in Bent Tree: the main subdivision offers single family residences and golf villas while The Fairways and The Woodlands offer more spacious homes and estates. Bent Tree was one of the first Sarasota neighborhoods to extensively apply the Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial styles of residential architecture, which contrasts nicely with the lush and mature landscaping.

As of 2018, a two-bedroom and two-bathroom golf villa with more than 1,600 square feet of interior was priced under $235K. A five-bedroom home with two bathrooms in The Fairways section can be negotiated under $385K, and some of the older three-bedroom properties featuring more than 1,800 square feet of interior were priced below $300K. Quite a few of the properties in The Woodlands section offer nice views of lakes and ponds.

While the historic championship golf course is the main attraction of this country club, membership is optional. All residents can enjoy the elegant clubhouse, which features a fine-dining restaurant, as well as the swimming pool, fitness center and tennis courts.

Bent Tree residents enjoy living very close to local attractions such as the Lakeview Disc Golf Course and Dog Park. The nearest shopping centers include Centergate Village and Bee Ridge, both anchored by large Publix supermarkets. A Walmart Supercenter is just two miles away. Driving to the beach is a simple matter of heading west on Bee Ridge Road for about 25 minutes before reaching the bridge to Siesta Key.
